About
Hello! My name is Omar Elbeheri, a mental health counselor practicing in Ontario and a certified Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Counselors assist clients by promoting their mental health, wellness, education, and career goals by understanding their concerns through the lens of normal, non-pathologizing development with a focus on prevention.
I typically work with young and older adults helping them reach their goals through the use of psychotherapy and assessments. Many of my clients experience psychiatric symptoms, have career concerns, or are looking for effective help after years of unresolved mental health concerns despite their best efforts. My workstyle is intuitive; I like to combine my understanding of Western and Eastern philosophies, and both theoretical and pragmatic style of conceptualizing problems. Above all, the most important thing for me is our relationship that is oriented towards getting better in the way you see fit.
While I am no expert, I am recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) to be qualified to care for my clients’ mental health needs with the aid of a senior counseling supervisor.
Outside of work, I dabble with playing guitar, videogames, weightlifting, and Yoga.
My modalities include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
